The 6th edition of the EDQM Guide to the Quality and Safety of Tissues and Cells has just been released.
This edition has been comprehensively revised to reflect current best practices, emerging evidence, scientific advances, and evolving clinical applications. It also takes into account the updated regulatory framework introduced by the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1938 on substances of human origin (SoHO).
This Guide brings together the latest expert knowledge and practical guidance to support professionals, establishments, and authorities responsible for the tissues and cells used in patient care. It is the result of an extensive collaborative effort involving internationally recognised experts in the field of SoHO, including the European Association of Tissue and Cell Banks (EATCB), and can be downloaded free of charge from the EDQM website. Its overarching objective is simple: to improve the safety, quality and success of clinical applications involving human tissues and cells.
