President's Welcome

Dear colleagues and friends,

welcome to the European Association of Tissue and Cell Banks (EATCB), a not-for-profit scientific association bringing together the European and international community of tissue and cell bankers and other related fields (comprising donation, organization/ coordination of procurement, processing, storage, quality control, quality assurance and distribution).

The association has members from more than 30 countries worldwide and holds yearly congresses all around Europe.

We look back on an extremely successful congress in Tampere, Finland in November 2025, with more than 300 participants. The congress offered three days of workshops, plenary and parallel sessions on donation, new technologies, the upcoming EU SoHO regulation, as well as practical topics such as procurement, quality management and digitalization. International panels and keynotes across the tissue sessions highlighted current developments and innovative approaches.

Currently, preparations are in full swing for the 34^th Annual Congress of the European Association of Tissue and Cell Banks, that will take place in Hanover (Germany) from December 14-16, 2026. We are already looking forward to another stimulating scientific exchange, a versatile program and the continuation of international dialogue.
